Had a great time at the Newport Jazz Festival. No, not that one – Newport, Victoria. Melba was in fine form, and a great time was had by all.
Got to hear some great bands. Someone in Tramways was tearing up a solo when I arrived – unfortunately, I couldn’t hang about as I wanted to get settled.
Despite me getting the yips, everyone else played amazingly. Our guest Trumpets were nervous about their solos, but they nailed them. Great vibes from the audience, even the 12 noon show was close to full. Shout out to the swing dancers that showed up to both sets.
